The Journey Begins

Know our Ministry ( Love God & Love People)

It has been my desire to help under-privilege children in the rural areas in the Philippines, and that the Lord developed us to be of help to the less fortunate. My wife Winnie Ingaran taught in a Christian mission school in Manila. After a year at that Christian School, my wife and I decided to start a school in our hometown of Cabagan which children ages 6 – 14 don’t go to school often because of the demand of poverty. We began with just 8 kids. We held classes in 4 meters x 9 meters hut made-up of plywood. In that same year our missionary friend Jenelle Duncan passed away, she was only 38. Jenelle had been a missionary in the Philippines taking care of the kids. We name the school in honor of Jenelle. The school name is Jenelle Duncan Memorial Christian School. Paul Duncan, Jenelle’s husband, help us to construct a few rooms for the school, and this year by God’s grace we will be starting elementary first grade. Presently we have 59 students and this number is steadily growing. We need more volunteers to teach our children and show the love of Jesus to them.

Aside from the school, God allowed us to start a church. In 2010 we start a bible study under a tree we called our church – “Church Under the Tree”. The church also do feedings in the rural areas. Lately, we started a ministry called “Clothes for Hope”. We asked friends and people to donate their unused/clothes that they would like to give. Our focus this year is the Church is to be able to make disciples. If you are called to make disciples pray that you can spend a few weeks to disciple new believers.

Our mission in the Church in the church to spread the word & love of Christ to many other people all around until our Savior returns. So if you are in to sharing the gospel & pretty passionate about it.

Pray that you can be a part of our mission here at Cabagan – our home residence that is populated around sixty thousand people this year and the out state which had 2 million people. We want to be used by the greater calling of God to “Love God & Love People” by this we can make the world a better place to be. Hope that you would support us in this race and finish it with joy & gladness until He returns.

Please pray for the ministry here in Cabagan, Isabela, Philippines. Godbless! All the best!

Church : Where people find healing

Church is not a museum for the saints but it is the hospital for the sinners”

You want to serve the Lord but you don’t know how? You want to spend your life for His glory but you don’t know when to start it? I would like to tell you my story. An Untrained servant of God – just a willing heart to served the Creator and the most High.

In 1985 I accepted Jesus as my savior and Lord during one conference of an American missionary named Bill Shell in August 1985. Since then I want to be involve in whatever that have to do about Jesus, I still remember after a few weeks of accepting the Lord I was asked to teach the bridge illustration, nobody thought me about it but because of familiarity of how they presented it almost every night I am there in a gathering where bridge illustration was presented and I was so happy when I presented the bridge illustration. I cannot remember if somebody have accepted the lord on my presentation but I am glad that I was able to present it. After the presentation I cannot count how many times I have already presented the salvation of human through Christ by using the bridge illustration. There is one thing I learned from my experience that is “God honors the desire of your heart to serve Him.” I am not saying that proper training is not important, but in my case God enable me to do what I longed to do for Him.

In 2010 my family, my wife Winnie, my son Aaron by that time he was 9 years old and my daughter Jazer Rose who was 7 years old at the time when we moved to a place called Anao located at Cabagan, Isabela Philippines. In that time, I don’t know of any Christian in the community and there is no Church. I felt the need of a Christian Church in that area. The big question is am I going to start a church here? But, I am not a trained pastor, I have no theological training but how can I start a church, which I learned it is “church planting” but the desire is there. So I started a church without training, support or whatsoever, just a worn out bible and willing heart. I invited a friend to have a “church”, at first his father, my friend and I met in unfinished part of our house that supposed to be a garage area and I was so happy and elated we have started a “church”. Our next meeting at “church” was reducing to two members. I am the preacher and he was my only congregator and when the meeting ended we congratulate each other we the “church” have a second meeting and my wife joined us. I am so happy that the “church” is growing. After a few meeting with the three of us, I have invited a family to join us and to my greatest pleasure they joined the church, so then I know that the church is growing up more. After years they are still with us and the three of them. When they attended once they asked the church to meet in a neighboring place called “Tubo”. Tubo is a place in Cabagan, where people are not prone to be identified in that place because of criminality and bad records. The number of people who attended the church is around more or less 20 people. We are meeting under a cocoa tree. We are called by some people “Church under the Tree” for less than a year, until somebody donated a land for building the church His sanctuary. After more than a year the church is ready to conduct our first ever service in a tent about a hundred of people showed up.

Christ the Savior Church first gathering. A church under the tree

Today we have a two story building that can hold 200 worshipers with other amenities, good sound system that other established church. We conducted campus ministry around the town we live, high school ministry and college ministry which is led by my son Aaron.

I am writing this blog to proof that God sees your heart when you want to serve Him not based on your training and education. If you want to serve Him just serve Him and He bless the works of your heart.

Community: Reach the unreachable

“Reach the unreachable, love the unlovable”

It’s been a dream of so many people that the community that they live in will have equal access to good education, housing, food, clothing and other things.

In Cabagan, Isabela located on the Northern part of the biggest island of the Philippines called Luzon. There is big a gap between the rich and the poor. There are families lived in huge and nice houses and drive new cars but there are also families in the shrieks and fairly dont have enoug food on the table usually salt and rice only.

It’s my dream in my lifetime, that hopefully I can witness the gap between the rich and the poor would become closer. As I mentioned earlier on my earlier blog God allowed us to start a church to fulfill these dream where would I start. The national hero of the Philippines Dr. Jose Rizal once said “Youth in the hope of nation”. So it is logical to start with young people?

As a pastor, I strongly believe that there would be spiritual awakening of the young people to start a change in the community. The bible said in John 10:10 “I have come that they may have a life to and have it to the full.” My son Aaron started youth groups, they numbering to 30 young people, games usually are part of their gatherings and the highlight is they study the word of God. We believe that spiritual transformation comes first. In their meetings they also discuss the importance of education. I don’t know when we can see the fruit of these activities but I am confident that what we are doing will not go into waste and would be gladly make an eternal difference.

The younger kids are not also neglected, we have feeding programs that often happen every day after another were we go to poor and dirty areas to give a nutrition to the little ones & to those who need it. We can help them physically in this way but it is also a channel that we can share the love of Jesus to them. We also have a ministry also called “Clothes for Hope”, where we asked some of our friends and donors to donate their unwanted old clothes and contribute it to the rural folks that cannot effort to buy new clothes as we are doing in the feeding we are always sharing the love of Jesus to them.

Why we are doing this? Simply because of the love of the Lord and we can only show our love by loving the people around us.

It’s our prayer that what we are doing right now will see its fruit someday, that there will be no poor (were breaking the cycle of poverty) or dis advantage in the community.

School: Educate them for a better future

“The education of even a small child, therefore does not aim preparing him for school but for life” – Maria Montessori

When I was at my teenage year I developed a love for the kids not knowing that after a two decades God used my passion to the kids to serve Him.

Not in my wildest dream that someday we will be working in a ministry for the poor kids in rural areas.

Start of JDMCS

START OF JDMCS

In March 2011 our Australians Missionary friends of ours passed away at the age of 88, Jenelle Duncan used to be a missionary in Manila for a few years caring for kids in Manila. We mourned for Jenelle. My wife Winnie cried a lot of Jenelle’s passing away as Winnie and I reminiscing the life of Jenelle and Paul (Jenelle’s husband) we thought of continuing the works of Jenelle.

On June of 2011 we gathered kids in the neighboring there are 8 of them to attend a teaching class in a small hut beside our house. The kids thought that the school is just for fun that even their parents thought it is a play school by the way Winnie is a teacher by professions on that year 2011. She was presently a teacher in mission school in Manila. We decided for her to give up her job in Manila to teach poor kids in the neighborhood in Cabagan, Isabela Philippines. The ratio of teacher-student is 1:45-50, in this kind of setting the quality of the kids’ education is not pretty good enough because of the handling queries that a teacher alone cant handle all the playful little ones alone. Kids from well family chose to enroll their kids in a private school which cost them a fortune. So if you are a poor kid there is no choice for you but to attend the cramped room of a public school were honestly they aren’t aware & prioritize the act of bullying. We also cater students who had special need or disabilities which other school dont accept. Going back to the 8 kids that went to the “play school”. After their early education in the school, they perform well in the bigger school where they are transferred. In a class they belong of the top five students – four came to the school and teachers and parent were intrigued where these kids came from. They came from a small village and they are not rich kids.

On the next year the number of kids increases and named the school Jenelle Ducan Memorial Kids Learning Center, but when we registered the school the name changed to Jenelle Duncan Memorial Christian School (JDMCS), and yes the school is already recognized by the government. This year we saw the most number of kids enrolled in the school – a total of 62 kids and we are expecting more next year. This year a group of missionaries led by Jenelle Duncan’s husband Paul built rooms for elementary. The building is not yet finish but we are praying that they will come again or any one to help us out to finish what started by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ we are expecting the school to developed to a Christian institution that will develop the younger generation to Love God and Love the people around them.

In my experience with Jenelle Duncan Memorial Christian School, God will use your desire and passion to serve Him. Who ever thought that a poor Pastor can start a school for the poor? We are praying for some partners if they can volunteer as teachers and just to play with the kids. Qualifications? You must

The Ministry The Plan & The Action

“In every conviction we must take action” –

I made this wisdom quotes & it is always boggling me up day after another thenI did take action and seize every moment of serving others & serving God

All the Ministries we had been doing by God’s grace

Basketball/Sports Ministry – Im a former World Harvest Coordinator (A mission team specialized in sharing the gospel through basketball) We go to different basketball court locations to play a game with them, then on the half time we share Jesus to them & share our testimony.

Feeding Ministry – Every week or the day after another we go to the most vulnerable & poor place here in Isabela to share a meal with them. We also share the good news to them, doing some skits, singing a song for them, playing with the kids, visiting houses & praying for them.

Cloth Giving Ministry – Through the donations that we had collected from various donators we give the clothes to the people who needed it the most & we go directly to them like going to the streets, poor public areas or community to be able to share the love of Christ to them.

Youth Ministry – We share the gospel to the young generation & train them for the next journey they will be going so they can grow through the love God on them. We conduct bible studies & youth nights (which is pretty fun) just to be able to train the young generations to live a life of purpose away from drugs, teen age pregnancy & alcohol.

Campus Ministry – We go to different campuses around to share the word of God, we do some singing & playing some little games to energized them up then after we share our testimony and the word of God to the students in able to make their faith deeper to Christ.

Music Ministry – We teach the young generations or the youth on how to play the musical instruments for free so that they can learn some new skill & use to glorify God.

Medical Missions – We go to rural areas which is most likely unreachable that did not have a nearby access to the hospital. So we as a hospital will go to them to provide a good health care, free check ups & medicines.

Teaching Ministry/School – We educate the children for a better future they are going & give them a good hope for the future through education we freely provide. The school is all free which literally means free uniform, food, water, tuition fee, school supplies etc…

Kids Ministry/ Sunday School  – We teach the kids more about Jesus & his great love for the little ones.

Church – We gather & grow through the love of Christ. This is the place where we find healing & forgiveness

Prayer Ministry – Every wednesday the Church prayer warriors gather at the Church to pray for all the Church queries & for the people or the community.

Evangelism Ministry – We share the gospel wherever we go even to the most crucial place or where God want us to went. Just to be able to share the good news of God

Here we share the word of God through the drug surrenderees & gladly they repent and accepted God on their heart

Discipling Ministry – We train & raise leaders to be the next generation to share the word of God and his great love.

Disaster Relief Ministry – We give to the people what they needed the most during natural devastation & disastrous calamities.
